3034 crosses the Nepean River with a down mixed

Happy New Year
a short update - work continues on the Nepean River road and rail bridge and approaches. This is by the far biggest project on the layout significantly more components than the coal loader and milk depot. There are over 3000 individual pieces in the parts that have gone into making the bridge. The road approach span is completed and water has been poured into the river bed. I used two lots of Woodlands Scenics deep water pour - probably should have been three - main advantage over fibreglass resin is it doesn't smell or produce any significant heat. Woodlands produce a good range of tints and riverbed colours.

 I will post more detailed photos when the rail trestle is in place - a colour shot below of the above scene. The road approach span handrails can be seen to the left of the CCA.

 I trust 2019 will be productive and enjoyable modelling year for all

    Bridge scene looking good, are you going to have Eldersle just off the bridge?
    Also went to ARHS archives the other week, and found a plan of Camden yard showing the relationship of the jib crane and stock chutes in the yard, unfortunately a bit late for you

    Thanks Greg - the next module curves on a 30 inch radius and Elderslie will be about 12-18" up from the bridge, the track and road will be lined with poplars - I do have a track plan for Camden and Ok with the location of stockyards and crane - it was a 5 ton unit, the only commercial ones at present are 10 tons - there is a 5 ton crane at Binalong which if I was keen could go out and measure - for now will settle with the 10 ton Peter Borman model. The stockyards are still causing me some grief - what little info you can get from photos apart from being in ruins show cattle races only. The Macarthur district is pretty famous for sheep in the early days and I do have a photo somewhere of a 20 class with a GSV in tow. So at some stage I wonder if there were combined sheep and cattle races there - any thoughts

    Kim, you will have to hurry up if you want to catch me up. I am working on Campbelltown, and a lot of Modeller's Licence going into it there. May do a blog update soon. Great work.

    Thanks Jim, mate I will never catch you - you are the fastest builder, fencer, landscaper and tracklayer that I know - happy to follow your lead. Look forward to seeing your progress and trust 2019 is a really good year
